The future of rugby in Northern Manitoba looks bright following a highly successful Come Try Rugby event held at Burntwood Field in Thompson.
A total of 52 young athletes participated throughout the day, taking advantage of the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of rugby, develop new skills, and experience the sport in a fun and welcoming environment. For many participants, it was their first introduction to the game.
With ideal weather conditions and plenty of enthusiasm on display, the event created an exciting atmosphere for players of all ages. From the youngest participants to the oldest, athletes demonstrated a willingness to learn, try new challenges, and support one another. The day was filled with smiles, teamwork, and new friendships as young people discovered what makes rugby such an inclusive and engaging sport.
The event's success was made possible through the support of dedicated volunteers and coaches who helped create a positive experience for everyone involved. Their efforts ensured that participants could enjoy a safe, encouraging, and memorable introduction to rugby.
